Did you know that autistic kids could have a trained autism assistance dog to give them;

Companionship, Independance, to keep them safe from harm, enhance physical safety, minimize and often eliminate emotional outbursts.

But most importantly provide a child to be able to interact with other children which helps increase the opportunity for a child to develope social and language skills. Dogs can function as a  "Transitional object", allowing the child with autism to first bond with the dog, an easier creature, and this eventually will increase bonding with humans and improve motor skills.
